On September 3rd, 2017, Harper College hosted their annual Hullabaloo event, attracting
over 700 students with many different interests to the quad. The event celebrated Harper’s 50th anniversary by providing over 1,000 students and staff with cake and entertaining activities, such as henna tattoos, inflatables, magic, and bean bag tossing games. It also allowed students to express their passions by allowing them to explore a variety of clubs.
The diverse range of organizations offered students opportunities to acquire insight on their professional goals, as well as make a difference in their community, such as the newly founded Animal Rights Club, whose goal is to prevent animal abuse. The event welcomed veterans and police officers to enlighten students on opportunities and careers within the military and law enforcement. Harper’s radio club also recruited students by entertaining them with their signature banana mascot while broadcasting live on WHCM 88.3 FM.
